    Excellent Flashlight

Posted by Unknown on 17th Dec 2020

I'm very pleased with the TN40S. I ordered the neutral white version and couldn't be happier. My primary purpose is to keep in the truck while hunting and camping. For the amount of light this throws it will be easy to store, and it is very comfortable to hold. The strap that was included seems to be great quality as well, and it makes this even easier to hold and handle. If you are looking for a light to illuminate large areas, this is an excellent choice!

    Great Light

Posted by Unknown on 17th Feb 2018

The only thing is it can't stay on turbo for long. It does last that 1.5 hours on Turbo. To find out, I had to put the light in the refrigerator. It still got hot so I had to transfer it into the freezer. The other thing is the paint comes off easily, and the strap has metal ends that chips where it makes contact with the light.

    Laser beam with spill

Posted by Robert on 29th Jan 2018

I had wanted this light for a long time before I bought it. I already had a TN31 and a Nitecore TM26. I did not think I needed this light...until I bought one. A laser beam with spill. I have not taken it out to the country yet because I had to get the right batteries for it. This light is just the right size and is a lot smaller than the TN42 from what I can see in comparison videos. It comes with a shoulder strap, but it almost doesn't need one. Very light in the hand. I keep it in a Pelican 1300 case for search and rescue. You can just pull out the foam from the box this light came in and put it in the Pelican case. Fits well. In the room left over you have plenty of room for a 4-cell charger and extra batteries. Now you have a searchlight kit ready for any search and rescue situation. I still need a battery pouch with 2 sections to separate the spent batteries from the good ones in case of an extended rescue operation.

You'll like the UI on this light. It is identical to many of Thrunite's other lights. This is refreshing because it is extremely difficult to remember all the ways to operate all these other lights you purchase over the years, so they mostly get put away and not used or you end up giving them away, which is what I have been doing lately. I will not be giving the TN40 away! I'm keeping this one.

Best all around light on the market

Posted by Richard S. in the USA on 22nd Jan 2018

The TN40S throws like a thrower and floods like a flooder, it is truly the best of both worlds.

It also has a really pleasing beam pattern, nice tint, excellent runtimes, intuitive UI and is built like a tank.

    Great light so far

Posted by Unknown on 19th Jan 2018

Pretty much agree with a previous reviewer about the reality of "super throwers". The TN40S throws a relatively wide spot reaching distances where one can still clearly see what the object is (without using optical magnification). The neutral tint is really nice. I've been using protected IMR cells with no issues of unexpected power down. When the power switch battery indicator turned red (while in turbo mode), I removed the batteries and measured them at 3.2V. The TNS40S was still functioning at this point - I just didn't want to run the batteries down any further. The light has more usable spill than my dedicated thrower. Overall a very well balanced flashlight. Hopefully it will remain reliable over the long term - so far so good.
Only negative - wish it would come with a holster. I would have paid a little extra to have this item included.

    This one is AMAZING !!

Posted by My wife calls me a flashaholic on 7th Dec 2017

I already had 4 Thrunite flashlights, but I wanted something that really could throw light at something at more than 300m.
This lightbomb lights up anything at distances up to 500m, easily. But everything that goes beyond of that, is overkill and thus useless, in my opinion.
I have the Neutral White version, with a beautiful tint.
This TN40s is the perfect "thrower", but do not expect to light up something at +600m (this is in fact the case with all stated throwing distances of all flashlights of all brands: devide the stated throwing distance by 2 to get a real usable throwing distance...)

    Best torch

Posted by Krzysztof on 7th Sep 2017

The best flashlight I have. Extends the TN42 range, but shines much wider.
